been so long, la la la

i am sooo sleepy. the boredom has faded to a slightly impure fear, and i am real anxious about my trip. i was thinking about the hot-ness of chicago summers, and riding the L in the middle of the day. i reassured myself that i would be in class from 9 to 5, thus missing the real hot hours. however, i then remembered the experience of sharing the L with other commuters, and resulting person-sausage-with-metal-casing-on-an-elevated-track-grill syndrome, wherein men stand at the end of cars illegally propping the doors open to provide some modicum of circulation. i will spend this summer relying on the kindness of strangers with 50 cent soft-serve ice cream. heh.

i am having a lot of trouble packing, realizing that it will truly solidify the reality of the trip. how the fuck do i pack for four weeks??? i am a bad enough packer when it comes to a one-week trip. crap. i think i will take netty's suggestion and pack for one week (ok, maybe a week and a half with some 'fancier' clothes) and just keep wearing the same clothes. guh.

i can do it! yes!

i spent last weekend at the handmade bazaar, sharing a table with heather Q. she is really rad and i want to hang out with her and her friends. make more non-reed connections. i met two of ther friends and within five minutes they invited me to a bar-b-q. rad. i hope to maintain connections with heather when i return to town, so that i can have a better idea of what i want to do with the web-site/hand-made ventures that are slightly in the works with say.

speaking of which, chris ross (like several of my friends, chris's name includes his last name... this seems to happen a lot, and has nothing to do with distinguishing one chris from another - when anna is referred to as just anna, i get confused - no, it's anna bond, dammit! ) keeps talking about setting up his own server thingie, which would be really rad.

speaking of food, a change has been made to the fruit-squares - chicagorobot can now be acessed via the orange slices... props!
