sound: ISIS went on my own tonight to see isis play at the blackbird. i didn't recognize anyone, which is so rare in this tiny town. the boys in the band barely recognized me, understandable since it's been almost four years.... i had a good chat with pat (heh) - he is selling the bar to move back east and have a rockband. i wish i had hung out with him more, but i am a lame-ass and never call people back. ohwell. as i rode my bike home in the late night i heard the trains making their loud noises and filling the air, and a car drove by, with a man standing in its open sunroof shouting "wheeeeeee!" over and over. it melded nicely with the screeching of the train's brakes. i took some polaroids of the paintings of the man from timberline dodge dealership, who repeatedly says "0% financing OR I'LL EAT MY HAT" and in the painting he has this strange grimace and is pointing to his cowboy hat. there are at least three paintings of him saying that and pointing with his teeth showing a little and at night it is back lit and you can see all the layers of paint. i love this man. i will scan the polaroids (i have not looked at them yet - i like to take a photo and then tuck it away, look at it later. it makes polaroids all the more magical) and post them. it is incredibly late so i am going to go to bed so i can get seven hours of sleep and get up to watch the price is right.... |
